1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible Owned By Mike and Cheri Pickett
Mike & I own a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura convertible that he purchased in 1969. It was driveable but not very pretty. He used it for a work car for about four years and then it was garaged for 25 years. Mike put a "back-yard" paint job on it in about 1997, joined the Rollin' Oldies and began taking the car to car shows. In 2004 Mike was blessed by his Aunt Edna and Uncle Gene with a small inheritance that allowed him to begin restoration of the car. He anticipated this to take about six months. Five years later it looks real pretty but has some engine bugs. Mike replaced the original Falcon engine with a later-model Maverick engine and beefed up the exhaust system to the extent we can't hear the CD player now. Obviously, need to address the exhaust system again. With some more tweaks to the carburetor, we should have it up and running by the end of this year's car show season.
