The Oakland automobile was made from 1910 to 1931, when it was bought by Pontiac. New it sold for less than $1200. At that time one could buy a new Ford for $600. The Oakland had been in a barn for 50 years before it was purchased by a man in Lebanon. He began working on it, but got sick and passed away. His wife kept the car for a short while, then sold it to her brother, also in Lebanon. Only by word of mouth did we learn of the car, not knowing what it was, but realizing we had never seen another car like it. It took Bob several weeks to talk himself into another project, but has never regretted a moment of the work. It took six months to get it on the road, using a Ford F-150 frame as a host. It has a 302, 4 speed transmission, and 9" Ford rear end.
